Panic attacks are extremely distressing and can be related to a specific phobia or be more general. Often they can appear to come out of the blue, strike at random and make people feel as if they are about to lose control or faint.
Symptoms can include palpitations, dizziness, shaking sweating, hyperventilating. It is not unusual for Panic attacks to be linked to Agoraphobia which can have a debilitating effect.
Anxiety or Generalised Anxiety can be described as excessive worry which continues over a long period of time and again many of these problems can overlap.
